Jal Jeevan Mission
Jal Jeevan Mission is an ambitious initiative by the Government of India aimed at providing safe and adequate drinking water to every rural household in the country through functional household tap connections by 2024. Launched in August 2019 under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, the mission seeks to ensure access to potable water, enhance sanitation, and promote water conservation at the grassroots level. The mission emphasizes community participation, water resource management, and the use of sustainable practices like rainwater harvesting. It also includes capacity building and awareness programs to engage communities in water quality management and conservation efforts.
